Investment Casting

The investment casting process begins with wax pattern injection, followed by ceramic shell building and drying. After de-waxing, molten metal is poured into the mold. Once solidified, the ceramic shell is removed, and the cast parts are cleaned, inspected, and finished.

Advantages:

A wide variety of metals and alloys can be used in the investment casting process (see details below);
Complex geometries, including undercuts, can be produced as a single component because the mold is destroyed after casting.
Tooling costs are generally lower compared to many other casting methods.
The process provides excellent dimensional accuracy and consistently tight tolerances.
Cast parts feature a smooth surface finish with no visible parting lines.
Minimal post-casting machining is typically required, helping reduce manufacturing time and cost.
